Abstract

In the article, the authors analyze the definitions of “soft skills” and determine that the professional skills of a teacher are manifested not only in the transfer of technical knowledge and skills, but also in the creation of a favorable educational environment where students can develop their personal qualities. The study applied a comprehensive approach that included an in-depth analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature: studying scientific papers, articles and other sources of information on the topic under study. Analytical work with information sources: synthesis and systematization of the knowledge gained, clear formulation of key concepts and aspects of the topic. An integral approach that ensures the integrity and synergy of the interaction of research elements. It is noted that modern choreographic education, in addition to the formation of technical skills and knowledge of the history and theory of dance, is increasingly focusing on the development of so-called “soft skills”. These skills, although not directly related to dance technique, play a crucial role in the professional success of a choreographer, ballet dancer, dance teacher, and other professionals in this field. It has been established that the main aspects of soft skills development in dance education are communication and emotional intelligence, teamwork, creativity and adaptability, time management, critical thinking and problem solving, self-management and responsibility, and stress resistance. A teacher in dance education plays a multifaceted role, acting as a mentor, coach, and role model. They demonstrate effective communication strategies, leadership skills, the ability to work in a team and apply a creative approach to solving problems. The teacher encourages students to actively participate in various projects, supports their initiative, provides constructive feedback, promotes self-reflection skills, and helps to integrate the acquired soft skills into practical activities, thus preparing them for a successful professional career in the changing world of choreographic art.
