The article compares the master’s programs of future musical art specialists’ professional training in Ukraine and Austria. The regulatory support for the process of future musical art specialists’ professional training in both countries is outlined, in particular with regard to the fields of knowledge within which such training is carried out and the amount of ECTS credits. It is shown that future musical art specialists’ professional training in Austrian universities is carried out within the fields of “Arts and humanities” and “Art studies”, while in Ukraine it is “Musical art” and “Secondary education (Musical art)”. It is found that educational programs offered by Austrian universities are mostly designed for 120 ECTS credits, while similar Ukrainian ones are for 90 ECTS credits (120 ECTS credits are for educationalscientific programs). Comparative analysis of the offer of educational programs of the second (master’s) level of higher education made it possible to ascertain the absence of specialization in the titles of the master’s programs “Musical art” in most of the educational offers of Ukrainian higher education institutions, while similar Austrian programs are defined by a narrow specialization. Significant discrepancies were identified in the structure of the educational components and the number of credits assigned to subjects of free choice. It has been proved that the identified discrepancies complicate the processes of European integration and internationalization of higher art education, connected, first of all, with difficulties in organizing academic mobility, in particular, in the aspect of re-enrollment of credits, mutual recognition of diplomas, studies under double diploma programs, etc. The prospects for further scientific research are outlined, which consist in determining the possibilities of implementing positive European experience, in particular Austrian experience, to improve the training of future specialists in the field of musical art in Ukraine.
