Working on a piece of art in the educational process

Abstract

The research is dedicated to the development of ways to improve the professional training of students in the Faculty of Art and Graphics during their work on artistic pieces in the educational process. Based on the theoretical analysis of scientific sources, it has been determined that the successful addressing this topic consists in a combination of theoretical analysis with practical experience of teaching fine arts in higher educational institutions, aimed at training future art educators. The article examines new approaches to the formation of professional competence in future art educators. The scientific publication also proposes new pedagogical approaches to the formation of professional competence of future art educators, which contributes to the effective integrated development of creative and professional skills. It has been found that direct discussion with students about the results of the completed work to ascertain its success is very fruitful. This promotes students’ awareness of the acquirers of the importance and necessity of sequential work execution, the importance of mandatory preliminary analysis of the image object, its shape, proportions, identification of characteristic features, properties, harmonious combination of all elements, structural composition, etc. Such an approach creates favourable conditions for preparing students for independent creative activity, which is actually the ultimate goal of education. The theoretical significance of the research lies in clarifying the concept of “imaginative thinking” in relation to the creation of artistic imagery during the learning process for students in Art and Graphic faculties. The practical significance of the research lies in the fact that the results obtained in it can be used in teaching practice, to improve curricula and programs, in preparing methodological guides for students of Art and Graphic faculties. After all, the future teacher of fine arts is called upon to foster interest in artistic heritage and develop students’ creative abilities. And this is only possible if he or she possesses professional knowledge and engages in active artistic creation. Also, one of the most important issues of training students of Art and Graphic faculties is the study, understanding, and appreciation of the values of artistic culture.
